Hello my love! Thanks for visiting, Queen’s Touch online! I am JoaNay (Nay). I’ve been a cosmetologist since 2009! 17 years, long years full of love, laughter, joy and heartache. I thought I wanted to be done with hair, so three years ago I embarked on the journey of becoming a Registered Behavioral Technician. I loved working in the schools, but I hate the politics! While on my journey, I’ve learned a lot about the struggles many families face with special needs loved ones. I have been made aware of the challenges many families face with grooming, hair maintenance, and making time for self-care. I have developed a unique salon concept that integrates ABA philosophies with my extensive experience behind the chair to help meet those needs. My goal is to generalize the salon experience and simplify daily maintenance for the families. Visiting a hair salon can be a stressful and overstimulating experience for those with sensory sensitivities. This is evident to the stylists, yet our industry lacks the knowledge of how to be accommodating. I believe it is the responsibility of those in specific industries to identify gaps and work to bridge them. Accessibility accommodations should be available to all who need them, not only those with visible impairments. I believe everyone should be able to receive enjoyable salon services. So I have created a sensory-safe, salon where everyone can be refreshed, rejuvenated and restored. I aim to make everyone feel seen and heard. With the Queen’s Touch, everyone feels like royalty.
